No one has a deeper understand of you, than yourself. Using your knowledge of you and my knowledge of yoga and integrative fitness, we will come up with a plan to help you reach your wellness goals.

The bottom line is that you can feel comfortable with your WHOLE SELF: mind, body, emotions, and spirit. It takes time. It is an on going practice. There will be success and failures. But you do not have to do it alone.

WHAT IS SELF-CARE & DOES IT MATTER?
Self-care is a broad term and a wide scope. Essentially, it is anything you do to take care of yourself and health. Actively and intentionally taking positive action for you physical, mental, and emotional well being.
Self-care can be anything from a bike ride, to spending time with friends, a spa day (at home or otherwise), or even doing a hobby. It is about taking time to take care of yourself, to contribute to your overall happiness and health.
Self-care is important because YOU ARE IMPORTANT, your wellbeing is important. It can serve as a foundation for a balanced and fulfilling life. Responsibilities to others and getting everything done on time often take over. We go through life checking things off the list without pause. Taking time for self-care makes you pause. It can help you to feel empowered, increase happiness and self esteem, reduce burnout, and can even help you get more done.

YOGA AS A SYSTEM FOR SELF-CARE
More than fitness, yoga is a whole system for personal development.
People are mostly familiar with yoga as a fitness practice, to maintain the body. That is the reason many people try yoga in the first place. However, after getting started, people find benefits beyond the physical...although those are pretty nice too.
Taken in its entirety, yoga is a way to care for your WHOLE SELF: mind, body, emotions, and sprit. This is why I love it and have stayed with it over 15 years. Yoga is simple, accessible, and vast. It includes movement, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, and so much more. When these elements are combined intentionally they can be life changing. You know you; I know yoga. INTEGRATIVE FITNESS & JOYFUL MOVEMENT
Feel good fitness that makes you smile and improves your quality of life
Integrative fitness, my favorite! Fitness with a purpose...beyond burning calories or just because you should. It is doing activities that elevate your quality of life. It is about choose types of movement that make you function better in the world. You might work on feeling more comfortable in your body, quieting the mind, improving energy levels, being balanced.
What do I mean...lets take some examples. Example A: In Vermont we have what I call "slippery season," basically every season except for summer. There is mud, ice and wet leaves. I spend time working with clients on moving balance. This way when they are walking around they do not slip, or if they do, they are able to recover without falling. Example B: Racing thoughts, we all have them. We remember something we are worried about and the mind spins out of control. Enter thought tornado. There are many different tactics to tame the overwhelming thoughts. I teach clients to be present in the moment and ground through yoga. This skill translates to taming the thoughts. When the tornado starts, breath, ground, and center. Joyful movement, is exactly what it sounds like. Movement that brings your joy! Movement that you actually look forward to doing! It does not have fall into any category or be structured at all; but, it can be. So, what is magical is when joyful movement and integrative fitness team up. Your whole self is feels better. You might even have a little easier time navigating life. |
1:1 Wellness Coaching
You and me, digging in, creating a lifestyle that brings you joy
1:1 coaching is about collaboration, experimentation, and exploration. Together we will make a realistic plan for small goals that lead to your big goal. Become empowered to make sustainable lifestyle changes. There is no one-size fits all solution to make changes. But there are many tools, lots of support, and no judgment.
Working with me gives you access to coaching combined with private yoga and/or fitness classes. I will work with you using the teachings of yoga as a framework. Lean more about me. Your program will include two types of session. 60 minute sessions that are focused both on coaching and strategizing, mixed with doing your personalized yoga practice. 15 minute sessions that are quick coaching check-ins to go over what is working and what needs to be adjusted. |
